Online workshop on Modeling and Control of the COVID-19 outbreak
“How dynamical models can help control the epidemic outbreak”
on Friday, April 24 – all day

The event will be open to the general public via livestreaming and recording.

The idea is to collect contributions of researchers in the systems and control field on the problem of modeling and predicting the dynamics of contagion evolution, presenting solution techniques specifically taylored to the characteristic of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The idea is that the workshop should not represent a mere academic exercise, but shall go in the direction of providing concrete tools for assisting our decision makers in managing the next very delicate phases.

The contributions should present sufficiently consolidated ideas and data analysis.

We solicit contributions that

  • provide a novel and original perspective to the problem of modeling and predicting the Covid-19 epidemic outbreak;
  • make use of the data collected and made available by various institutions;
  • are mathematically rigorous.

Researchers who are interested in contributing may submit an extended abstract (2 pages) before Tuesday 14 to the Chapter Chair (F. Dabbene). Alternatively, they may submit a (preliminary version of a) recent paper on the topic.

All contributions will be evaluated by the scientific committee. The final program is expected to be ready by Friday 17.
